The Habanero pepper, originally from Mexico is grown in Cameron highlands of Malaysian. The chillies are folded, like the traditional Mexican varieties, but elongated and come in the most twisted and contorted shapes.

The flavour profile of the habanero has the noticeable tropical fruit flavours of coconut and papaya, with berry undertones, and an acidic and intense, fiery heat. Even with its pungent heat, Habanero-type peppers retain a sweet, tropical flavour.
